Big Idea: God has a heart for the world and so should we. Go into all the world...what a big challenge! This past Sunday, Brittany Baker shared about how God first put a drawing on her heart for missions at the age of 10. And now over the years she has begun to more fully understand God's heart for the world. She has been on numerous missions trips and has seen her sister move to Japan to take on missions full-time. Through all of this she has felt the tug of God on her heart to move into the medical field in hopes of one day working in medical missions in South Africa. Matthew 28:18-20 was one of Jesus' final commands before leaving earth. It stands as a reminder of what he died for...to save the world...and how we are supposed to be a part of this great plan. We may not all travel to foreign countries, but we all have a part to play in reaching and changing this world with message of Christ. Who is God calling you to reach? Where is God calling you to go? Acts 1:8 reminds us that it starts with our next door neighbor and ultimately leads to the ends of the earth. So, whether its through prayer, giving, or going...get involved in missions! Family Challenge: Find a local or foreign missions project and get involved by either volunteering or giving. Take time to pray for another country this week.
