Big Idea: Your Personal Experience with Jesus is important...tell somebody! Ever seen someone famous or been to a really good movie? By the end of the day everybody knows about it. Whether through Facebook, Twitter, a phone call, a text, or a one-on-one conversation, it is public knowledge. That's the nature of who we are. When something significant happens we talk about it. So shouldn't it be the same when it comes to the life-changing power of Jesus! In what ways have you experienced Jesus lately? Have you told anyone about it? There was a woman in the Jesus' time that got this concept. She was a Samaritan and wasn't even supposed to be talking with Jews. However, Jesus befriended her one day at a water well. You can find the whole story in John 4. But one of the things that strikes me is what she did after she talked with Jesus... In John 4:28-30 she runs back to her village and tells everyone about a man who "told me everything I ever did!" You see, she experienced life change and then told somebody about it. That is followed by many Samaritans in her village believing in Jesus! Are we telling others about our encounters with Jesus? Are we playing a part in other's story of finding Jesus? We can build others' faith, we can help open the door of somebody's heart to Jesus, and we can be an encourager. So take a moment to reflect...and see what Jesus has done in your life. Don't keep it to yourself, tell somebody else! Because who knows, that Samaritan village may never have known who Jesus was if it wasn't for an adulterous woman being transformed by Jesus and telling her story. Family Challenge: Take some time as a family to share with each other what Jesus has been doing in each other's lives. Challenge each other to share that with at least one person this week.
